Pursued by Bear, Bear Cub Red 2020

Pursued by Bear is a passion-project created by actor-turned-winemaker, Kyle Maclachlan. A Walla Walla, Washington state native, Kyle would often pine for his home when away acting, and started Pursued by Bear as a way of paying homage to the snow-peaked mountains and high golden plateaus he calls home. The winery takes its playful name from Shakespeare's "A Winters Tale", where, to no one's knowledge, a bear appears to chase the protagonist off stage. Bear Cub Red 2020 is made from a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Verdot, and 7% Merlot; all aged for 18 months in new French oak. Youthful, playful and vibrant, it bursts with notes of black plum, blackcurrant and blackberry; along with some sweet-spice flavours of cocoa and vanilla. The full-bodied palate is structured, with balanced acidity and more dark fruit flavours carrying the long finish. A real treat.
